Twelve Days of Christmas Day Twelve

Happy Monday for the second time, everyone! I hope you all enjoyed that early morning author interview with Kristina Circelli! If you missed reading it, click her pretty face there on the sidebar of the blog.

On to the fun!

I had an overwhelming response to the pitchfest this year. In total, I had sixty-three samples to read! I read each and every one. As I got to the last page, I either put them in a collection called: Indie Reviews for 2014 or Saved for Later. Some, I admit, were deleted from the fray. No, I'm not going to list which ones they were. That wouldn't be nice. I'm not here to burst bubbles, I'm here to give Indies a hand.

Without further ado, here's the final review list for 2014 (again, some were from this contest, some were books I chose on my own):

  1. :( I'm so sad. This was so much fun to participate in and I enjoyed reading your posts.

My favorite thing was finding new authors. I actually bought Thaddeus White's book, Sir Edric's Temple, and thoroughly enjoyed it. I don't think I would have run across his book without this promo.

Thank you for all your time. I'm sure it wasn't easy.

I look forward to keeping in touch with you and following your post. Hope you have a wonderful day and happy holidays!

  2. Morning Jo :)

I have to say that my favorite part was definitely finding you -- and the other authors to check out! I wouldn't have found you if it weren't for Felicia, so I'll have to thank her too! I love meeting new authors and making new friends, and look forward to following your posts!

I hope you have a Merry Christmas as well. And...

    Meep meep! ;)

    1. Thank you, C. S.!! What a sweet thing to say! I've loved reading all the book samples and was very torn when choosing which to select. I do hope to see you around the blog now! :) It's been so great meeting you!!

  3. Hey, Jo. Very glad that I stumbled over this contest via Goodreads. Obviously from a personal perspective it's good to get noticed, and I'm glad LK Evans liked Sir Edric (huzzah!). I do plan on writing more, probably after my main work-in-progress.

It's also great to see this sort of thing specifically promoting indies, and helping authors and readers out. I hope it helps to drum up interest for your site, and hope to be a regular reader.

In the spirit of Christmas I'd also like to suggest those who like Arabian Nights or that sort of thing might enjoy The Master of Izindi, by Dave Wallace. If you're after an old-fashioned sword and sorcery tale with a Middle Eastern flavour, give it a crack.

Merry Christmas, Jo and everyone else.
