If you entered and your name doesn't appear in the above list, you forgot to do something on the Rafflecopter OR you sent me a print only book (which I cannot sample). Only those authors with three entries on the excel form made it into this list. If you only left your book pitch and link in the comments, I didn't pick it up. You gotta fill out the whole form.

Remember, every book that's pitched stays in until the end! I also don't go in order. Keeping you all guessing 'til the end is my fun time. I'll announce a new choice every day. If you're an author, be sure you're following along each day to get a new way to join me on social media (this will matter when your review goes up). You can enter a book each day if you come back and fill out the new Rafflecopter form.

Suggestions for new topics on my help page were:
  • How about: Writing what you don't know?
  • A specific blog about programs to use to convert your books to ePub and mobi...I'm trying Calibre but it's not very user friendly. Also, maybe a blog specific to the bad guy. How to make him complex. Sorry if these were listed and I missed them. I'm going to have some fun reading those tips today!
  • Scrivener reviews
  • Old and New when trends should just die out and how not to fall victim to one in your writing
  • It appears complete. I run into so many comma errors in other's writing that I get confused and always have to remember what I learned in school. Your short articles are great reminders. Some writers get so carried away with saidisms, they enter the realm of hilarity. I'm delighted to see you referred to an article on those. Wait, do you have something on the use of hyphens? Or the use of capitals? Or American versus British spelling?
Thank you all for the suggestions. I'll be blogging about those soon!

Winners from yesterday:

a Rafflecopter giveaway

Congratulations! You've all won a Mystic bookmark! I'll be in touch today to find out where to send your prizes

Now it's time to announce the author added to the review list!

The Elect by Elle Todd

Your book has been shared, tweeted, pinned, and added to my Goodreads TBR list for this contest.

From now until day 12, these books will be recognized with an * after the title when I do my rundown.

I chose this book because the writing is spectacular, the characters interesting, and I love a good high school paranormal novel!

**Kindly remember there's no guarantee your book will be reviewed by me. You did get a purchase and I'll try my best to read it. But if I find I can't give it more than 2 stars, I won't write the review.**

Now, time for the entry form for today! You're entering to snag a copy of The Bird by ME!

a Rafflecopter giveaway

Good luck to everyone!

Well, that's all for today, folks! Until next time, WRITE ON!

Jo

  1. This is an extraordinary piece of history, about a crime and a criminal like no other.

It is the factional autobiography of my crazy, unbelievable life in the oil business.

  2. Good morning!! I can't believe there's only 2 days left! It went by so quick. I guess that means it's time to finish my Christmas shopping.

Thank you again for doing this for authors. It's such a great idea. I've already put one book on my to read list, Sr Edric's Temple. Wouldn't have seen it without your posts.

    And, YAY, I won again!

  3. Morning Jo! :D Yay, I won a bookmark! This giveaway is just great. :D

A post on what to use to do ePub and mobi? This person should use Scrivener. It's GREAT for mobi. Not so much for ePub I've found, but then you can take the file from Scrivener, put it in Calibre (do ePub to ePub) and it pretty much takes away all the crap and makes a clean file. I know this because I was using Scrivener for ePub and it was all messed up, and I did this; it was a great discovery :)

Thanks again for doing this! I will eventually do a giveaway and like getting different ideas of things to do rather than just doing what others do!

  5. Hi, Jo. I would be most pleased if you would review my mystery novel, Haunting Memories from a Troubled Past. Here's a synopsis:

Private Investigator Hera Hunter cannot escape the violence of her past. As a child she watched her father murder her mother. And she remembers the face of every man and woman she killed during two stints as a Marine Corp sniper. Today, she leads a secret life of gunning down those who get away with brutal crimes.

She receives a call for help from Ida Bunce, private secretary to the mayor. By the time Hera reaches her, Ida is dead. Hera vows to find the woman’s killer. Her investigation stumbles upon a secret alliance that runs the city from the shadows by bribing and extorting public officials. One by one, those who voice suspicions that the group exists are killed. Meanwhile, Hera must deal with the unsigned letters pushed under her door that invite her to use her shooting skills to rid the city of corruption. Someone knows of her vigilante activities, and they are an even greater threat to Hera than the gunman from the alliance who is stalking her.

    Thanks for this opportunity.

    1. Thanks for all of the help you provide to Indie authors. Those are some interesting topics. I just use KDP to convert to .mobi. You can always download a copy of the .mobi file without publishing the book in the preview stage.

  8. I bought a book at a farmer's market today. I stopped only because of its cover. I had a nice conversation with the author. The cover of The Bird attracted me, when I first saw it, for similar reasons. Maybe, if you come to our farmers market... Changing the subject, I would love to know more about Scrivener and if I should invest in it. May I also ask for a post about it?

  9. Very nicely constructed campaign you are doing here. I am still convinced that which helps one of us helps us all. After publishing Barge Pilot, I learned the hard way that too many of our ranks believe this to be a zero sum game.

  10. My friend Tamar just recommended your blog to me. I have been enjoying your posts and The Bird looks interesting!

I would LOVE to have you read my new novel, ALLURE. Why? It is an urban fantasy set in the 1920s with a paranormal twist. If you enjoy character driven novels that both make you laugh and cry--this is it. It is the prequel to the Watcher Series and can be read as a stand alone, or part of the series.

BLURB: As America tries to forget the horrors of the Great War by embracing jazz, flappers, and the speakeasy, the Watchers remain vigilant by protecting the innocent and maintaining order among the Immortals—including a powerful line of Seers who are all but extinct. But the real horror is just beginning. When George Yates is ordered to escort the beautiful Rosemond Le Clair to safety, he finds himself in the middle of an ancient feud that demands her blood. Without the Watchers’ help, he must struggle to protect the last remaining daughter of the Le Clair family from these dark powers, even as he defies fate itself.

  11. Hi, I'm rushing today because our freezer quit, and hubby is saying, "Let's go!" I have no more books to enter, but I must say I find the cover of Bird compelling. I'm a nature person, so it draws me.
Am looking forward to receiving the bookmark. Thanks.
