Congratulations to Sylvia Stein! Your book has been tweeted, shared on Pinterest, added to my Goodreads TBR for the event, and shared on Facebook.

PITCH your book in the comments. Put your LINK in the Rafflecopter entry form. Tell me why you think I'll like it, why I should check it out, and a little about the story. DO NOT give me a synopsis. I can get that from Amazon. Make it personal or make it funny. I care not. I'll be grabbing a sample of every book pitched and go from there.

Please specify if you're entering as an author, a reader, or both. Author only entries will be removed before a winner is chosen.

IF you have a pre-order, please upload a SAMPLE to Google Drive and give people with the link permission to view. Put that link in the Rafflecopter form.

I strongly encourage you to check out the works of your fellow Indie authors. Chat in the comments, talk each other up, make friends!

Book reviewers! You're welcome to play along, too! Meet and greet authors. Get new books to read and review. It only works if we all work together.

**Kindly remember, there's no guarantee your book will be reviewed by me. You will get a purchase if your sample interests me, and I'll try my best to read it. But if I find I can't give it more than 2 stars, I won't write the review. I've had a few I couldn't finish and it led to me not giving a review.**

Now it's time to announce the winners from yesterday's giveaway!

  4. Day 6! This is my last pitch, I'm outta books! I guess I better get to work on writing some more!

Christmas in the City Anthology - 14 Christmas Romance Novellas by 15 best-selling and award-winning authors. Beside the fact that this book is full of delicious romance reads that you'll be devouring like candy, you're also giving back with each purchase. All proceeds from CITC go to a children's hospital.

My contribution to the anthology is a YA Romance called Christmas Letters. It's part mystery, part romance. Street-smart New Yorker, Rae, starts receiving anonymous letters from someone who knows entirely too much about her. They recount memories she's tried to repress to the tune of 12 Days of Christmas, making Rae hate the lonely holiday even more. Will she take a chance and follow the mysterious trail set out for her by the letters? Will they leave her broken-hearted or could this be the Christmas miracle she's always hoped for?

  5. Hi Jo. I want to pitch a Christmas Anthology I'm in called Mistletoe Magic. There are a variety of genres from historical fiction to psychological thriller, a time travel mystery, Christmas through the eyes of a dog, and even a dragon. The stories are well-written by some amazing authors that I've gotten to know over the past year. And the best part, the book is FREE! I hope you give it a read. Thank you for this wonderful opportunity.

  7. Happy Thursday, everyone!

Woo-hoo! I won! Thank you, Jo and Kelly. :D Can't wait to get my signed copy.

I'm back with a different kind of pitch today.

My friend came over last night. She sent me a text saying the demons were back. I spent the evening talking her off the ledge. Many of us suffer from depression at one point in our lives. Life can be hard, and sometimes things are overwhelming. I reminded my friend of all the times she had beat the demons back. I spoke about all the incredible things she had accomplished in her life. I pointed out her tenacity and strength. No matter the situation, she’d always overcome. Even when she stumbled, she found her footing and fought back with sheer grit and determination. I reasoned that if she’d done it before, she could do it again. She left feeling better about her situation and more confident in her ability to persevere.

Avelynn goes through a harrowing amount of trials and tribulations. She’s up against a patriarchal society, an unyielding religion, ruthless ambition, and war. Her desires and passions pit her against antagonistic forces that would cripple even the strongest amongst us. Avelynn falters, she struggles, but she never gives up fighting for what she believes in. Rather than weaken her, her wounds make her stronger.

I like to think that deep down inside, a little piece of Avelynn exists in all of us. It’s not easy to do the right thing, it’s not easy to stand up for the underdog, and it’s never easy going against other people’s expectations. But in order to live a truly authentic and happy life, we need to rise above the demons, the naysayers, and the negativity that threaten to block our path. Find your strength. Persevere. Follow your heart. And never gives up on your dreams.

    In gratitude,
    Marissa xo

    1. I couldn't agree with you more, Marissa! :) Avelynn already has my heart!! She's so resilient. I always find it funny how I know a little about the author after reading their work. I can't wait to see what I find out about you :)

      Congratulations on the win!
